Why I Take A Camera Everywhere
Putting in the effort to become better at what I love.
I love this quote by American Painter Chuck Close who said “Inspiration is for amateurs. The rest of us just show up and get to work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself.” It really brings home the massive shift in my photography passion over the years.
Even in the off-season, or in my spare time I’m always taking photos and always editing because I love to keep learning and growing my skills.
From quiet moments at home with the dogs, to adventures big and small I never stop observing and I never stop creating.
I truly believe the sky is not the limit, we are. We hold ourselves back and we make excuses. If you truly have a passion, you have get out there and make it happen.
Every month I take hundreds of photos and share only a small fraction of them because they first and foremost for me. I like to reflect on the photos I take, I try to think about why I took the photo, why I composed it that way, and how the editing can create an entirely different mood.

So may “pros” say you need a specific niche you need one style but that’s not who I am. I’ve never had a single style or stuck to just one type of photography. What matters to me is understanding the entire process well enough to create exactly what I want. Whether it’s something a client needs or something I’m creating for myself, I strive for the know how and skills to bring any vision to life. No matter the location, the time of day, or subject, I want the power to create absolutely any photograph I want and the only way to get there putting in the time and effort.
