Finding Joy in the Imperfect Capture

 
Sometimes, you only have a heartbeat to react. That was certainly the case when this Cooper's Hawk decided to depart, and in those few precious seconds, I was lucky enough to get a single shot off. and I was lucky enough to get a single shot off in those three precious seconds. The photo that resulted is a far cry from perfect, it's dark, a touch out of focus, and the composition is certainly not its strong suit. Yet, looking at it, I feel a sense of satisfaction, this single, imperfect image is a reminder of the thrill of the moment.

Happy Ears Anniversary

Hard to believe it was 5 years ago this month when we started The Happy Ears Project with my whole family. It was our year long passion project that 3D printed ear savers to help people on the front line of covid that had to ware masks all day.
