Shutdown Continues

Government shutdown day 7 with no end in sight.

My thoughts go out to those who have to work without pay or are on furlough. The bills keep coming, food still needs to be purchased, and finding a new job takes a long time these days.

Back in 2018/19 my family of 6 had to survive without pay for 36 days over the holidays and there was no back pay for contractors. It's not just the daily burden of being forced from your job, but a significant financial setback eating up your reserve funds, and so much stress.

I'm grateful to be working on a mission critical project this time that is funded by last years budget, but so many people are not. This is a systemic failure of our government leaders and those in control who have decided to weaponize peoples livelihood to play party politic games.

I've had enough of this crap, stop the finger pointing, stop walking away from it, and why the hell is the house going on vacation in the middle of a gov shutdown, just fucking fix it!

Happy Ears Anniversary

Hard to believe it was 5 years ago this month when we started The Happy Ears Project with my whole family. It was our year long passion project that 3D printed ear savers to help people on the front line of covid that had to ware masks all day.
